Fabrication assessment

Stuart Duncanson
30/10/2024

The front outer wings both look pretty good at first glance but once we have the vehicle stripped down then we can check over and make another assessment. The bottom of the wings that connect to the sill are quite rusty so they will need to have some repairs done to them but this could be because of previous repairs that have been done. The rear valance seams solid but again, we will need to re assess once we have stripped the paint off to see if there is any more damage present.

This morning we are continuing with the stripping of the paint from this lovely car, so we can see exactly what we are dealing with.Right hand front wing now stripped, it does have some rust issues that need attending too.Just started on the right hand rear quarter and straight away found quite a depth of filler and fiberglass! Will update when I have more removed.

This morning we have removed both front wings and continued with the stripping of the paint, filler, sealer and now fiberglass. Again this has revealed areas that 100% need attention, mostly the drivers lower A pillar area which is no good.

After removing the paint and filler from the rear panel I found a few small holes. The sills have also been cleaned back prior to getting replaced

Fabrication car on celette jig

Daniel Kearney
27/1/2025

Tried to mount the car to the jig to identify if the vehicle is straight. The rear of the chassis has picked up the jig brackets which would suggest that the chassis is straight from there forwards to the jig mount that picks up the car at the bulkhead unfortunately from the the car has some major issues that I have uploaded pictures of from one side to the other there is a a different of 10mm in hight from left to right and in the suspension mounts there is a twist of around 15 to 20 mm within the pick-up point on the car.
