These modified 356s embrace a rebellious spirit, with enthusiasts and collectors customising them to their unique tastes

Porsche 356

The Porsche 356 B, a beloved classic, is a true icon in the world of sports cars. Introduced in 1959 as the successor to the original 356 A, this model marked a significant step forward in the evolution of Porsche's legacy. Born from the vision of Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche, the 356 B was a refined and more powerful version of its predecessor, combining elegance, performance, and precision engineering.

The history of the Porsche 356 B is steeped in automotive excellence. Porsche, a company that initially started with the production of the Volkswagen Beetle, took the knowledge gained from their early years to create a car that was both practical and performance-oriented. The 356 B featured a range of engines, including the famous 1600 Super, offering drivers a thrilling experience on the road. This model not only appealed to sports car enthusiasts but also found immense success on the race track, solidifying its reputation as a fierce competitor.

Race pedigree

The Porsche 356 B's achievements on the race track are a testament to its engineering prowess. It was a dominant force in various motorsport events, including rallies, hill climbs, and endurance races. Notably, the 356 B secured class victories at prestigious competitions such as the Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its racing pedigree helped cement Porsche's reputation as a serious contender in the sports car arena and contributed significantly to the brand's enduring legacy.

Restoring a 356

Restoring a Porsche 356 B is not merely an exercise in nostalgia; it's a tribute to automotive history and craftsmanship. This classic car embodies the timeless blend of beauty and performance that Porsche has consistently delivered over the years. Preserving and restoring a 356 B ensures that this remarkable piece of automotive heritage remains a living testament to Porsche's dedication to excellence.

Outlaw

In the realm of Porsche 356 B restorations, there's also a fascinating subculture known as "outlaw" versions. These modified 356s embrace a rebellious spirit, with enthusiasts and collectors customising them to their unique tastes. Outlaw Porsches often feature engine swaps, performance upgrades, and personalised styling, deviating from the factory specifications while retaining the core essence of the 356. They've earned their outlaw status by pushing boundaries, combining vintage charm with modern performance, and becoming a distinct and cherished part of the Porsche enthusiast community.

Our project will deliver an Outlaw with a real track presence. Whilst we are still within the design phase ideas we are planning transplant 911 power into this car to deliver an amazing drive  with the full Porsche flat six experience.
